Mission: In partnership with home and community, Vancouver School District provides an innovative learning environment that engages and empowers each student to develop the knowledge and essential skills to become a competent, responsible, and compassionate citizen.

Elected Officials

Members of the Vancouver School District's board of directors are elected by the citizens of the school district to four-year terms. The board sets the district's goals and policies and is the governing body for adoption of school budgets. Acting as secretary to the school board, the superintendent is responsible to them for implementing policies and operation of the schools. Positions are non-partisan.

  • School board meetings have typically been held at 4 p.m. every other Monday at the Center for Educational Leadership, 2921 Falk Road. Beginning with the 2008-09 school year, Board meetings will be scheduled on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month.
