General Information
Incorporation: Clark County Fire District 5 was first organized in 1954. Beginning as a volunteer organization, the Fire District began serving the community through one fire station in Orchards, quickly growing to three stations including the Heights and St. Johns areas.
Voting District: Using existing Fire District resources, and in cooperation with the Vancouver Fire Department staffing, equipment and stations of the Vancouver Fire Department, Clark County Fire District 5 serves the neighborhoods of Orchards, Sifton, Preboestel, Barberton, Heritage, Walnut Grove, St. Johns, Pleasant Valley, 5 Corners, Glennwood, and Minnehaha.
Mission: The mission of Clark County Fire District 3 is to protect lives, the environment, and property, by providing prompt, skillful, and cost effective fire protection and life safety.

Notes of Special Interest
- Through a service contract with the City of Vancouver originally signed in 1994, the Vancouver Fire Department provides emergency fire and medical response, technical rescue, hazardous material response, emergency management coordination and fire prevention for the citizens residing within the Fire District.
- Fire District 5 continues to provide direct services to the community through the operation of the Northwest Regional Training Center. The Northwest Regional Training Center is a state-of-the-art facility offering a variety of educational offerings both within the EMS and healthcare fields and the occupational safety industry. - Fire District 5 continues to support community safety through its public safety education outreach programs, aligning itself with other service providers ensuring that personal safety education remains a Fire District focus.
- Prior to a service contract consolidation with the Vancouver Fire Department, the Fire District operated out of eight strategically located fire stations, employing approximately 80 Fire, EMS, Prevention and support personnel. In 1994, the Fire District entered into a service contract with the City of Vancouver Fire Department to provide emergency and prevention services to the citizens of the Fire District. As a result, all employees, equipment and assets of the Fire District became the property of the City of Vancouver.
- Today, Fire District 5 continues to serve the community through their elected officials, the three-person Board of Fire Commissioners, Fire District staff providing Safety & Prevention and community outreach, and the operation of the Northwest Regional Training Center, located in Orchards.
