General Information
Incorporation: Formally known as Public Utility District No. 1 of Clark County, Clark Public Utilities was formed by a vote of the people in 1938. It is a not-for-profit municipal corporation organized under the laws of the state of Washington.
Voting District: All registered voters living in Clark County.
Current Electricity Rates: Residential electric rates are 7.36 cents per kilowatt-hour.
Current Water Rates: For the typical residential customer, the rate of $1.38 per 100 cubic feet.
Mission: Clark Public Utilities is a customer-owned public utility district that provides electric and water service in Clark County.
Annual Revenue: 2006 operating revenue: $340 million for electricity; $10.7 million for water.

Elected commissioners
Elected Officials
A three-member board of commissioners is elected by the citizens of Clark County to set policy for the utility. Their six-year terms are staggered. Commissioners set utility policy, approve annual budgets, establish rates, approve major purchases and select a general manager to run the utility.

Engagement Opportunities

Meetings of the board are held the second and fourth Tuesdays at 9 a.m., in the commission room at the utility's Vancouver Service Center, 1200 Fort Vancouver Way.

The utility sponsors and hosts the annual Home and Garden Idea Fair at the Clark County Events Center.

The utility is active in the community in terms of coordinating stream bed cleanups and restoration, conservation education, and more.
