Notes of Special Interest

  • Thirty-eight full-time employees, as well as two part-time employees, operate the agency.
  • The Board of Commissioners is elected by residents within the district to serve six-year staggered terms. There are three positions – president, vice president and secretary.
  • The district is located in Clark County, Washington. Sometimes mistaken as a department of Clark County government, CRWWD is an entirely separate agency in both management and funding. The confusion was one of the deciding factors in returning to the agency’s original name.
  • The district has over 381 miles of sewer lines and 50 pump stations serving approximately 33,400 Equivalent Residential Units (ERUs), with a population of over 81,000 people.
  • The district has not operated a sewage treatment facility since 1975, and currently contracts with Clark County Public Works and the City of Vancouver for treatment services. These costs represent approximately 60 percent of the annual operating budget.
